Resumen: Juan Valera y Leopoldo Alas, Clarín, mantuvieron una afectuosa correspondencia entre 1889 y 1901 en que falleció Clarín. Se editan aquí 22 cartas de Valera a Clarín, que permiten descubrir tanto el afecto que se profesaron como su intercambio de ideas acerca de la novela y el papel del escritor en la sociedad española.
Juan Valera and Leopoldo Alas, Clari´n, had a warm correspondence between 1889 and 1901, year in which Clari´n died. 22 letters from Valera to Clari´n are here edited. They allow discovering the affection they professed to each other as well as the exchange of ideas about the novel and the role of the writer in spanish society.
