Por tanto, esta asignatura profundiza en algunas de las cuestiones teóricas planteadas en las asignaturas obligatorias de primer semestre “Teoría y práctica del texto literario en lengua inglesa” y “Teoría y práctica del texto fílmico en lengua inglesa”. Se enfatiza el análisis semiótico-ideológico de la representación de las identidades individuales en un contexto de transformación social. En las diversas sesiones de trabajo y actividades del curso se promoverá la capacidad de desarrollar un discurso crítico sobre la representación y de aplicarlo en la práctica al análisis e interpretación crítica de algunos textos fílmicos relevantes. Al igual que en las demás asignaturas de este Máster, se fomenta la utilización de la lengua inglesa en un contexto crítico. Esta asignatura proporciona asimismo una base teórico-práctica avanzada para la elaboración del trabajo de fin de Máster. $$bBrief presentation of the course This course provides specialized knowledge both on some of the most relevant issues in the analysis of representation through cultural texts, and on the way to apply these concepts in depth to a selection of significant films in English. Therefore, the course expands some of the theoretical issues dealt with in the compulsory courses of the first semester, "Working with Literature in English" and "Working with Film in English." There is an analytical emphasis on the semiotics and ideology of representation and on individual identities in a context of social transformation. The sessions and activities in the syllabus will contribute to developing the students’ critical discursive ability in dealing with representation and its application to the analysis and critical interpretation of a selection of relevant filmic texts. As in the other courses in this programme, the use of English language in a critical context is implemented.
